This is remembered at the turn of the century as the Old Mill and children of the village picked violets in the spring near its ruins. This classic photograph shows Samuel Keen's shop in its heyday. Built in 1882, by Samuel Keen and Charles Mitchell on the Matfield River. Shoe machinery, brass pins, clothes wringers with rubber rolls among other things were manufactured here. This picture was used on the sesquicentennial stamp in 1973 which was designed by Richard F. Bartlett.
